Sustainable Transport and Mobility—Oriented Innovative Startups and Business Models

Sustainability-oriented transport and mobility solutions hunt for engineering management innovations. Both are primarily adopted by startups—ambitious dynamic forms of organization stimulated technical technological progress. In this paper, the original definition a startup as new organizational form has been proposed, most relevant trends in green transportation have discussed. The paper also seeks knowledge about business models sustainable mobility-oriented innovative startups. For purpose, descriptive statistics 200 transport-oriented startups produced, based on results quantitative research 2016–2019 Poland, appealing presented. Business sustainability-oriented mapped analyzed. Green innovations concern mainly products models. studied can be divided into responding to challenges designing equipment, vehicles, infrastructure (including electromobility) those offering managing processes, fleet, passenger transport—especially micro-mobility cities public transport. Analyzing profitability Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-oriented startups, we concluded that related “hardware” projects (vehicles, infrastructures, drones) need more financial support or strategic partnership than service-oriented projects. We hypothesized contribute “greening” sector processes services, which requires further in-depth research.
